That also depends on your preferences and choices. Just make sure it’s visible.Īpart from colors, you will have another option of going with animated overlays or still overlays. Or you can go for a darker colors that creates a certain mood. You can go for a bright color that has a lot of highlights to it. Now, depending on your choice and taste you can try out various kinds of facecam overlays. Other than that, using facecam overlays can help to separate the webcam elements from the gameplay screen. So, having a facecam overlay there creates a certain appeal. Also, most of the times people will looking at your facecam while enjoying your stream. You can have an identity of your own with a facecam overlay. Having a facecam overlay in your stream adds individuality. A facecam overlay is a frame for your webcam that you are using on your stream. If you use a facecam for your streams then it’s better to use facecam overlays along with that. Try keeping them simple so your gameplay is visible while having a decent outlook of your stream. Having said that don’t go overboard with your overlay designs. They are very much helpful for the overall growth of your channel. At least you should have an overlay for your webcam, events, sponsorships, and alerts. You can create a unique identity for yourself with different twitch overlays. While a twitch overlay isn’t something compulsory, it’s best to have them on your stream. Now, that includes variety of components such as facecam overlays, stream alerts, transitions, chat display, events list and so forth. It’s a way to decorate your stream alongside your gameplay. Twitch overlays is a combination of various overlay designs that you can use on your streaming screen. Twitch overlay template also offer custom facecam, animated facecam template for you. This way, you ensure that your face is always visible in the preview and that the camera does not cover the rest of the content.Looking for Facecam overlay template or want to download animated facecam overlay then TOT provide 100+ beautiful free facecam for download. To avoid being covered by all these elements, you can place your camera with the webcam overlay in the center left/right or in the bottom right corner. On the top left, you'll see a live icon, and on the top right, you'll see the time for how long you've been streaming. If you scroll through the Twitch previews, you'll notice the following: On the bottom left, you'll see the viewer count. This can be done by right-clicking horizontally on the camera source -> Transform -> Flip.Īnother Twitch tip we can give you is the placement in the Twitch preview image or your stream. Either position the camera on the monitor or table in the right direction or (if the angle doesn't allow it) mirror the camera source in OBS Studio. Otherwise, you're figuratively turning your back on the game/content. Try to align your camera, so you're looking at the game in the stream, not away from it. However, there is one design subtlety you can pay attention to. It often makes sense to adapt the webcam to the game, not to cover any essential stats or the like. It's up to you where you want to place your camera and webcam overlay in the stream. If you want to read more about one of the most famous Vstreamer and what it can look like, click here. Professional Vtubers and Vstreamers go even further with special tracking devices to perfectly capture every emotion. You still need to activate a camera so that facial expressions and gestures are transferred to the virtual character via the camera. However, creating virtual characters often comes at a cost. Even as a Vstreamer, you can use webcam overlays. On YouTube, you can find numerous tutorials on how to create your virtual character for streaming. Some programs and tools already provide you with virtual and well-functioning characters. If you still want to give your stream a face, you can, for example, also become a virtual streamer (short Vstreamer). Therefore, a viewer can sometimes overlook it if you do not immediately respond to the follower, subscriber, or others. If a streamer is focused on the game and doesn't notice a new alert immediately, you will see the streamer's focus on the webcam. These emotions are often essential to a stream. But be aware streaming without a camera means you can only transmit your emotions through your voice. If you feel more comfortable without a camera, then stream without it. Of course, you don't have to stream with a webcam.

Typically, I am a sucker for pretty user interfaces, but I can still live with Linux Mint’s straightforward user experience running it on a dual-monitor setup ( 1440p + 1080p). It looks pleasing to the eyes with a minimal approach. It does include subtle animations and features icons/themes that make up for a modern look, if not the best. With Cinnamon desktop, that is not the case. When we think about a lightweight desktop environment-we usually imagine a bland user interface that focuses on performance. Fast Performance Without Sacrificing User Experience Of course, you can try installing Cinnamon desktop on Ubuntu.īut, for this article, we consider Linux Mint as the ideal use case. So, you do not have to worry about needing an insane amount of memory or disk space to run a Linux distro powered by Cinnamon. In the modern computing age, these specifications should suit almost everyone. To get a comfortable experience with Cinnamon desktop (usually with Linux Mint), you have the following system requirements: To help you further, the “ Welcome Screen” in Linux Mint provides you with all the information quickly. Whether you are a Windows user or a macOS user, the Cinnamon desktop layout should not feel challenging at all. But, accessing a start menu, a taskbar, system icons in the tray, and a couple of window decorations make it easy to grasp. Of course, Windows 11 has evolved its usual layout with time. The primary objective of building Cinnamon was to keep the GNOME 2 desktop style alive.Īnd that is why you get a familiar desktop layout compared to the most popular consumer desktop operating system, i.e., Windows. Familiar User Interface Linux Mint Cinnamon Desktop If you did not know, the Cinnamon desktop is a fork of GNOME created in 2011 by Clement Lefebvre (Linux Mint creator) with enhancements over the years. The integration is absolutely magical, it's extremely competently done and gives you all the upsides of playing couch co-op and online co-op (you see your partners' trinkets and whatnot but the camera also follows you individually, meaning you're not tied down to the host in bigger rooms!). It's only got a tiny bit of delay (we live quite a bit apart in different countries so we were surprised that it worked better than a lot of other games' online, so this delay might be even smaller for those living closer) but once you get past the slight (but consistent!) lag you'll stop noticing it. The sigil serves as a visual representation of the practitioner's intention and helps to focus their energy on the desired outcome. One popular method is to incorporate them into spells and rituals. There are many ways to use sigils in magic. The goal is to imbue the sigil with energy and intention, making it a powerful tool for manifesting your desires. Some practitioners prefer to use additional tools or rituals to charge their sigils, such as lighting a candle or speaking an incantation. This is done by focusing on your intention and visualizing the desired outcome while holding the sigil in your hands. Instead, create a unique and visually appealing symbol that represents your intention.Ĭharge your sigil with energy: Once you have created your sigil, it's important to charge it with energy. Tips for How to Use Sigils in Your Magic Practice Sigils can also be incorporated into talismans or amulets or used in conjunction with other magical tools, such as crystals or herbs. Another method is to create a sigil and then meditate on it daily, visualizing the desired outcome. One popular method is to create a sigil and then draw or carve it onto a candle, which is then burned during a ritual. Once you have created your symbol, charge it with energy by focusing on your intention and visualizing the outcome. Using this new phrase, begin to create a symbol by uniquely combining letters and shapes. Next, remove all repeating letters and vowels from the statement to create a new phrase. This can be a phrase or sentence that describes what you want to manifest. The first step is to write out a statement of intention. The mechanics of sigil creation are relatively simple. The idea behind sigil magic is that by focusing your intention and energy on a symbol that represents your desire, you can tap into the power of the universe to bring about positive change in your life. They can be created for any purpose, from love and abundance to protection and banishing. In magic, sigils are used to manifest a specific desire or outcome. They were often used in magic spells and rituals, as well as for protection and divination. Sigils have been found in various cultures throughout history, including ancient Egypt and Greece, as well as in medieval Europe. They were also used in alchemy as a way to encode knowledge and understanding into a symbol that could be easily shared and understood. The use of sigils can be traced back to medieval ceremonial magic, where they were often used as a way to communicate with spirits or other entities. The symbol is then charged with energy and used to help bring about the desired outcome. They are a visual representation of your intention that can be used to focus your mind and energy on bringing about the desired outcome.Ĭreating a sigil typically involves taking a statement of intention and condensing it down into a unique symbol representing the essence of that desire. Sigils are symbols that are created to manifest a particular desire or goal. So, what are sigils and how can they help you manifest your desires and intentions? In this article, we will explore the history and mechanics of sigil creation, as well as provide some tips on how to use sigils effectively in your magical practice. However, some students were animating the sliders and coming up with fun animations (like this or this… watch both for a while). And students needed to create the coolest polar art using multiple equations. Students needed to create the coolest polar graph with one equation. Then I showed kids a google doc which had all the info for the contest - and the link to the google form to submit their entries. Some who were getting boring graphs saw the cool graphs their classmates were getting and were inspired to mix things up since they knew they could make neat things. They gasped and turned their screens to show their friends. They got excited by what they were seeing. They dug into old functions they had learned about. Then I gave everyone 7 minutes to just come up with something pretty. Then I might have altered the function a bit more, like and we saw what happened. So for example, if they said, I might have added the slider. I then pulled up desmos and asked my kids to shout out some polar function. So after our unit on polar graphing, I took 10 minutes at the start of class to introduce this idea of a Polar. (Now to be fair, desmos isn’t great with creating great complicated polar graphs… and it’s better to write them parametrically to get a bit more accuracy… so this is a bit of a lie of a graph in that it isn’t totally accurate… but it’s oh so pretty.) Why? Because one day during the polar unit, I started playing around with desmos and accidentally created: This was something I wanted to do after introducing polar graphing. Then I printed them out on photopaper and hung them up. Feel free to restrict any domain/range and to share in your graphs. You are not limited to the number of equations you use. Your project should include at least eight different types of functions: linear, quadratic, exponential, trigonometric, logarithmic, etc. Your assignment is to create Desmos art about a topic you are passionate about. I hope you find these ideas helpful and are able to try them with your students! I have included my instructions for their final project below. I honestly feel that by not giving a lot of (specific) instructions, students were empowered and had complete ownership over their projects. To my surprise, many students used 30+ equations and the quality of their work was truly amazing.Īs I mentioned before, I tried keeping the instructions somewhat loose because I did not want to limit my students. I asked for at least ten equations with different domain/range restrictions. I tried keeping the instructions very general because I really wanted them to have ownership over the project. Students completed different projects that went from school/team/club logos to an actual portrait of Horace Greeley. I decided to center the project around school spirit at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY. Our first project took place after we covered polynomial and rational functions. They had so much fun with it that we actually had three art projects during the school year. One very successful assignment my precalculus students really enjoyed was their Desmos Art Project. With that in mind, one of my goals was to provide my students with activities that truly fostered authentic work. With our current technology, students have access to step-by-step solutions at their fingertips to almost any problem we give them. This past school year, as many other teachers, I taught in a hybrid model with some students in person and some others at home. Working as a math educator for the past twelve years has taught me that an effective way to engage students is by giving them choice in how they demonstrate mastery of their learning.
